Ohm’s law

A law that defines the relationship between current, voltage, and resistance in an electrical circuit. The current is proportional to the applied voltage and inversely proportional to the resistance, giving the formula I = V ÷ R, where I is the current (in amps), V is the voltage (in volts), and R is the resistance (in ohms).
